Terms
These are the terms this website is published under. They are deliberately narrow: they cover the site, not an engagement. Anything we actually do for you is agreed separately and in writing before it starts.

What the prices on this site mean
The retainer and build prices published here are real and current, which is unusual enough to be worth stating. They are the prices we quote, not an opening position.
They are still subject to scope. A build tier assumes the page count listed against it; a project materially larger than that gets re-quoted before anything starts, not invoiced as a surprise afterwards. Where a price is shown as from, it is a floor and not an estimate.
Advertising spend is never included in a retainer. It is paid by you, directly to the platform, in your own account.
What is agreed separately
Nothing on this site is a contract or an offer capable of acceptance. Before work begins we agree, in writing: the scope, the price, the timeline, the payment schedule, who owns what at the end, and how either side ends the arrangement. If any of that is not written down, it has not been agreed.
What we do not promise
No agency controls search rankings, and anybody who tells you otherwise is selling something. We do not promise a position, a traffic figure, a lead volume or a revenue number, and we will not sign a contract that claims one.
What we do commit to is that the measurement is honest: reporting comes from your own analytics accounts, in your name, and it says what happened including when that is unflattering.
The content on this site
The writing, code and design here are ours. Quote us, link to us, and cite us freely — that is what the machine-readable copies of these pages exist for. Republishing a page wholesale as your own is a different thing, and not permitted.
Case study figures are measured from real analytics and are dated where they appear. They describe what happened for one client in one period. They are not a forecast for anyone else.

Common questions
Are the published prices inclusive of tax?
Tax treatment is confirmed on the quote before you commit to anything, so that the number you agree is the number you pay.
Is there a minimum contract length?
The commitment for each engagement is set in the written agreement before work starts, and it is stated there rather than buried in terms on a website.
Who owns the work at the end?
You do. Domains, hosting and analytics accounts are registered in your name from the start, and the site and its content are yours.
